HG GM Kai - Custom

I decided to try my hand at a HG kit and went with the GM Kai because it looked like I could customize it and really make it mine!  I didn't get many WIP pictures of this kit because I forgot to take pictures, but I will throw up what I have!

I took this little guy and created this:

Modifying was pretty easy!  To mount the shoulder laser gun involved cutting a hole in the shoulder and gluing a small piece under the armor in order for it to stay on.  The small gatling under the arm was easy as well.  Just had to make the small hole a bit larger and it slid right in and stayed.  The large gatling took a bit more as I had to not only open up the hole on the arm, but also cut the gatling hole larger as well.  I used xacto knives on both of these to open them up.  The beam on the beam saber is actually from a Qubeley of the same size.  I had to cut the end down and slim it to fit into the saber handle.  As for the paint job, I used a generic primer then a Satin Red from a spray can.  The black is a generic Flat Black spray can.  The weapons are from another model called the Gunsniper Leena special.

Overall, the build was nice.  A good HG for sure.  It was simple and not overly complicated.  However, some parts were difficult to separate and some of the internal connections broke off, but were glued back together.  Articulation for a HG is pretty awesome.  It rivals some MG.  This was fun to customize and make my own.
